Dogs have been domesticated for quite a long time. The process, creating human-dog cohabit changes dogs in many ways. Food is one of them. While pet food companies are spending their time and money doing all the research about this, we can just look at simple ways to use fruits and vegetables to benefit our fur kids.

  • Icy cold sliced cucumbers or baby carrots help soothing puppies gum and these vegetables are digestible.
  • A few thick slices of carrots or apples can save your expensive sofa if you have a dog with chewing behavior.
  • Don’t throw away strawberry’s stems. If they have some red part of a strawberry, you can us it to rub on your dog’s teeth to prevent tartar buildup and any gum decease. You can also use strawberry juice to clean your dog’s teeth.
  • Mix mashed banana, green bean or pumpkin puree in your dog’s kibble can promote an apatite and your dog will also get extra calcium.
  • Adding cranberry juice in your dog’s water bowl helps prevent bladder infection.

These are just samples of what you can do. Be creative and make sure that fruits or vegetables you choose are safe for your dogs to consume. At the end, no matter how you use fruits and vegetables for your dogs, you will know that these are all natural and they are indeed good for your dogs.
